A flock of Canadian geese enjoy a peaceful autumn day in their own private sanctuary. These beautiful birds are a common sight here in northern Ohio. I've been fortunate to be able watch these birds go from egg to fully grown. They inhabit many areas along our downtown shoreline, much to the dismay of the folks who have to clean up the sidewalks. They were here first and return to what they consider home year after year. Our buildings provide them shelter, our nicely manicured lawns provide them with a convenient food source and the puddles in the road after a rain are a fantastic place for them to wade. They have adapted to our invasion of their territory quite well I think. I just watch my step while on walks downtown, it's worth a little inconvenience to be so close to nature.
I come from a creative family who loved art, music, photography and sometimes random hiking adventures. I am thankful to them for giving me the gift of curiosity, creativity and a love of the natural world. I incorporate all of these aspects into my work and enjoy working with a variety of mediums. I also enjoy making detailed collages using recycled materials, in this way I can do my part to help the environment and create something beautiful. Thank you for visiting!
