Description
A cheerful sunny yellow, tiger striped Canna Lily. This variety is named the "Yellow King Humbert".
The Canna lily is a large elegant flower but it is also a surprisingly versatile plant.
The seeds are used as beads in jewelry. Fiber obtained from the leaves of the plant is used for making paper. All parts of the stem, foliage and rhizome are consumed by either livestock or humans. A purple dye is made from the seeds. Smoke from burning the leaves is used as an insecticide. In remote parts of India, the Canna is fermented to produce alcohol. In Vietnam canna starch is used to make noodles. The Canna is also a traditional Father's Day gift in Thailand. So many uses for such a lovely plant.
