A single autumn leaf partially trapped under ice. On the nature trail, even in the middle of a harsh winter, there is always something beautiful to be found. I came across this series of single autumn leaves perfectly preserved under clear winter ice. These leaves will become part of the forest floor in the spring but for now their simple beauty is frozen in time.

I come from a creative family who loved art, music, photography and sometimes random hiking adventures. I am thankful to them for giving me the gift of curiosity, creativity and a love of the natural world. I incorporate all of these aspects into my work and enjoy working with a variety of mediums.
