Growing up to eight feet tall with bright reddish purple stems, the pokeweed is a striking perennial. This North American plant is native to the Midwest, eastern North America, the Gulf Coast and scattered throughout parts of the west. It has over a dozen different names but is most commonly known as pokeweed and is very poisonous to humans and animals. Children are especially vulnerable due to the colorful, appetizing berries. Look and admire but DO NOT EAT!

I come from a creative family who loved art, music, photography and sometimes random hiking adventures. I am thankful to them for giving me the gift of curiosity, creativity and a love of the natural world. I incorporate all of these aspects into my work and enjoy working with a variety of mediums.
