Description
This scene was captured at James H. McBride Arboretum in Huron, Ohio. After a leisurely stroll around the gardens you can relax here for awhile and admire the view of the pond and the surrounding gardens. The Arboretum has something new to see year round.
"Founded in 1983 by James McBride, the first Dean of BGSU Firelands College, the arboretum today has grown from a cornfield to THE horticultural landscape gem in Erie County. The college and its adjacent arboretum together comprise about 59 acres, with the eventual goal of becoming known as an arboretum with a college located within. The arboretum is readily accessible off a separate driveway on Boos Road or by walkways from any of the campus parking lots. Admission is always FREE, and the arboretum itself is open daily from dawn until dusk. "
"The collection of trees and shrubs today numbers in excess of two hundred species and growing, with most native to the Firelands area."
"Beautifully landscaped gardens dot the premises, loaded with annuals and perennials. We offer four season beauty and invite all out to experience the tranquil quality of nature at her finest."
