An elegant pink and white moth orchid in full bloom. Moth orchid is the informal name for the Phalaenopsis and is named for it's unusual resemblance to a moth in flight. I thought it was fascinating that such a beautiful flower has it's origins in something some people might find to be creepy. Overall, orchids can be challenging to care for but if given the proper attention they will reward you with their unmatched beauty year after year.

I come from a creative family who loved art, music, photography and sometimes random hiking adventures.
