Description
A alarmingly hot assortment of spicy peppers from my garden in a graphic black mesh basket. Peppers shown in order of hotness are: The mild green jalapeno, the spicy red serrano, the "you'd be crazy to eat this" yellow-orange habanero and last but certainly not least, "the equivalent of a gastronomical forest fire" ghost chili. The last one recently created havoc in my kitchen. I used a cast iron skillet to cook these peppers in a meal only once. After thoroughly washing and forgetting about it I used the same pan a week later to heat some breakfast sausage. Once it hit the flames the ghostly pepper residue in the pan created fumes that nearly evacuated my house. Ghost chilies are just that powerful folks, use with caution.
