Part three of a series of four depicting the same scene in each season. Pen and ink drawing with digital textures and color.
I have a love hate relationship with summer. It's a time of fun and frivolity, going to the beach, ice cream cones,refreshing drinks, campfires, grilled food and the joy of being outside again. On the other hand, the heat can be intense and sweltering, the bugs think you're a tasty snack and the sunburns...oh the sunburns. But it's worth the pain to step into my garden, pick some fresh mint and make myself a cool and satisfying mojito, kick back in my lawn chair and listen to sounds of city life all around me!

I come from a creative family who loved art, music, photography and sometimes random hiking adventures. I am thankful to them for giving me the gift of curiosity, creativity and a love of the natural world. I incorporate all of these aspects into my work and enjoy working with a variety of mediums.
