Description
An abstract view of the Lake Erie shoreline in North Central Ohio. Lake Erie was named after the Erie Tribe of Native Americans who lived along the southern shore. Of the five Great Lakes, Lake Erie is the fourth largest and the tenth largest globally. It is furthest south, the shallowest and smallest by volume. It is bordered by Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ontario, Canada. The outflow of the lake provides hydroelectric power to the U.S. and Canada via huge turbines at Niagara Falls.
