This portrait, whether I intended it or not, is a reflection of my feelings as of late. My family has suffered many personal losses and hardships these past couple of years and I think it all just caught up with me. I think, subconsciously, I have released some of these overwhelming feelings out in my work as a way of not going absolutely crazy. I believe otherwise that I would allow myself to be swallowed whole by those thoughts and like the figure in the scene be consumed by them.

I come from a creative family who loved art, music, photography and sometimes random hiking adventures. I am thankful to them for giving me the gift of curiosity, creativity and a love of the natural world. I incorporate all of these aspects into my work and enjoy working with a variety of mediums. I also enjoy making detailed collages using recycled materials, in this way I can do my part to help the environment and create something beautiful. Thank you for visiting!
