Hot red peppers,cherry tomatoes and a sprig of mint for garnish. One of my favorite hobbies is gardening. Every year we grow a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. All the vegetables and the mint in this photograph were fresh picked from our garden just moments before it was taken. Jalapenos are a delicious and versatile pepper. They're not just for chili and salsa, they can be made into jelly using conventional jelling methods. You can make chipotles by simply smoking fresh jalapenos. Stuffed jalapeno poppers are always a favorite. We often dice them up finely and add them to our cornbread. They are muddled and used in mixed drinks. And of course they can be pickled and sliced for nachos. The best part about growing these yourself at home is that they can be chopped and frozen for your enjoyment all year long!

I come from a creative family who loved art, music, photography and sometimes random hiking adventures. I am thankful to them for giving me the gift of curiosity, creativity and a love of the natural world. I incorporate all of these aspects into my work and enjoy working with a variety of mediums.
