Description
The White Water Lotus or Nelumbo nucifera is normally one of the most beautiful aquatic flowers you'll ever see. In the fall however, a drastic transformation occurs. The lovely flowers disappear and the seed pods shrivel up and dry out leaving behind what you see here. Eventually this pod will fall into the water and become next years flowers. This particular seed pod looks like any other at first glance, but if you look closely you will find a tiny little face looking absolutely petrified of falling into the water.
