Description
My faithful old converse shoes. There's nothing like an old beat up worn in comfortable pair of sneakers. Cherished by cool people since 1917.
Converse All-Star Basketball shoes were first manufactured in 1917 by the Converse Rubber Shoe Company. A basketball player named Charles "Chuck" Taylor joined a team sponsored by the Converse shoe company called The Converse All Stars. Taylor was both a salesman and a athlete for the company and held basketball clinics in high schools all over the country. While he taught the fundamentals of the game he also sold the All Star shoes. He also made improvements to the shoes he loved improving the flexibility and support and adding a patch to protect the ankle. Through the years the shoe steadily gained popularity being worn by professional basketball players, Olympic athletes and even WWII soldiers for training. In the 60s the company expanded and by this time 90 percent of all professional and college basketball players wore the shoes. They remain popular with counterculture and mainstream culture alike.
